About the Artist | Jennifer Stoll
Inspired by scripture, Christian artist Jennifer Stoll transforms reclaimed wood into works of fine art fit for a more precious gallery - your home. She also enjoys creating commission & custom work; favoring acrylics, watercolors, and textiles.
With a heart for missions, Jennifer set out to major in elementary education to teach children wherever she may be called, while her formal education in the arts remains in the confines of her high school electives. Though the mission field was not abroad in a traditional sense as that door closed, her teaching skills would be used by the LORD in due time.
After years of dabbling in sales, Jennifer returned to her previous love of art with the intention to create gallery work. Her first piece was an ethereal painting of a door which would become increasingly significant as the LORD grew the business (see her blog for more details). Before long, her love of teaching made 'paint parties' a natural addition to the business, but the 'party' quickly began to crowd out Jennifer's true calling - fine home accents for what she sees as a more precious gallery.
Believing the homes of fellow believers should be adorned with scripture, Jennifer began a home decor line of original quality works that would bless both the giver and the receiver. Her calling is in serving the hearts and souls of others through entertainment & ministry with a little humor mixed in. Her original artwork can be identified by her red signature, symbolic of the Proverbs 31 woman whose “price is far above rubies”.
Jennifer and her husband, Eric, are blessed with 3 children and are delighted to serve the greater southeastern WI area.
About the Name | "Jennifer Something Art"
Jennifer Something Art™ was originally a placeholder name. Last names are hard to remember and when it comes to early-stage marketing and brand recognition, "easy to remember" is key. Bearing this in mind, Jennifer’s last name, Stoll, looks like "stole" but is pronounced "stall". When giving her name over the phone, one typically assumes the spelling is "Stahl". This doesn't always bode well for sharing websites, emails, etc. Knowing that referrals would be a regular occurrence within the 'paint party' circuit, people would undoubtedly ask "Who was that paint lady you had at your house that one time?" Because last names are indeed hard to remember, the common reply would likely be "I know her name was Jennifer… Something." Thus the placeholder name stuck. People remember it without realizing they remember it. :) Since then Jennifer has been recognized in public as "Jennifer Something" which she welcomes with a joyful heart.
About the Decor | "Ruby Door Designs"
The LORD provides. After a small, slim, dead tree fell in the Stoll’s back yard, Jennifer's husband, Eric, worked diligently to cut said tree into manageable sized pieces. Jennifer paused to observe the stunningly beautiful inner wood of one particular disk. Thinking it might make a gorgeous little gem of home décor, she reserved this disk for a small painting. The smooth surface proved to be a delight to paint on and Ruby Door Designs™ was born. The name of Jennifer's decor line stems from a combination of the ruby mentioned in Proverbs 31 and the many mentions of Christ as the door.
